This song by The Buggles was really popular at the end of 70s. Video Killed the Radio Star tells the story of a singer whose career has been cut by television. The single reached the top ten position in different charts around the world and got a certified Gold in UK. Its video music was the first one in being shown on MTV North America. The song was included into their debut album, The Age of Plastic. The band had relatively a short period of musical activity. They were present between 1977 and 1982. During that time, The Buggles released another album titled Adventures in Modern Recording where their most popular single was I Am a Camera.
