The first time people knew about this song was with Fast Folk Musical Magazine in 1984 and three years later was incorporated into her album Solitude Standing. During that time, Tom’s Dinner was not so popular like now. It was with the version of the British group, The DNA Disciples in 1990, when the song made recognized until became a super hit by reaching the peak positions number one, two, and five in charts like Billboard Hot 100, French Single Chart, Austrian Singles Chart, Swiss singles Chart, and UK Singles Chart. Suzanne Vega got a certified gold in BPI UK, RIAA U.S. and CRIA Canada with this album. Tom’s Dinner had two version into the album: vocal on the track 1 and instrumental on the track 11. Her last work was Beauty & Crime that won a Grammy Award as Best Engineered Album this year.
