Silly Love Songs – Paul McCartney & Wings  Lyrics

October 6, 2008

Album: Wings at the Speed of Sound
Genre:  Soft Rock, Glam Rock
Released: 1976

This song became one of the best-selling singles of the 1970s and is listed #31 on Billboard’s Greatest Songs of all time. Paul McCartney had been criticized for writing lightweight songs, even John Lennon had made a comment about “silly love songs” and also said that Paul’s material was “a lot of rubbish”. For that reason, as a response to this, Paul McCartney wrote this song, which was his first try into the then-popular disco sound, together with his band Wings. The song reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 and number two on the UK Singles Chart.

Silly Love Songs - Paul McCartney & Wings

You’d think that people would have had enough of silly love songs.
But I look around me and I see it isn’t so.
Some people wanna fill the world with silly love songs.
And whats wrong with that?
Id like to know, cause here I go again
I love you, I love you,
I love you, I love you,
I cant explain the feelings plain to me, say cant you see?
Ah, she gave me more, she gave it all to me
Now cant you see,
Whats wrong with that
I need to know, cause here I go again
I love you, I love you

Love doesn’t come in a minute,
Sometimes it doesn’t come at all
I only know that when I’m in it
It isn’t silly, no, it isn’t silly, love isn’t silly at all.

How can I tell you about my loved one?
How can I tell you about my loved one?

How can I tell you about my loved one?
(I love you)
How can I tell you about my loved one?
(I love you)

How can I tell you about my loved one?
(I love you)
How can I tell you about my loved one?
(I love you)
