Lori Lieberman was the first singer in recording this song, but it was with Roberta Flack in 1973 when the song became so popular and won three Grammy Awards for Best Pop Vocal Performance by a Female Performer, Song of the Year and Record of the Year. Killing Me Softly in this Song stayed on the position number one on Billboard Hot 100 during four weeks. In fact, the song was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 1999. The group The Fugees also released it into their album, The Score in May, 1996. The single was listed on the position number 360 on Rolling Stone’s list of The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time, while on Billboard was listed number 82 on its Billboard’s Greatest Songs of All Time. Roberta Flack released last year her last Live Album titled At Her Best with other songs like: The Closer I Get to You, River, Jesse and The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face, all songs recorded between 1975 and 2001.
