Fast Car is maybe the signature song of Tracy Chapman who included it into her debut self-titled album in 1988. The song got an important popularity when she performed it on Nelson Mandela 70th Birthday Tribute. She received a Grammy Award for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance and many other nominations like Record of the Year and Song of the Year. The song reached the top ten positions in Europe and The United States. The Rolling stones ranked to Fast Car on the positon #165 on their list of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time. The album also got a Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Folk Album. At the end of the last year, Chapman released her eight album titled Our Bright Future which received a certified Gold for more than 100.000 copies sold in France.
