The song was the debut single of The Knack, a rock band from Los Angeles, into their album Get the Knack. This single became an international hit. My Sharona was written for the guitarist Berton Averre. The title of the song is inspired in Sharona Alperin a real estate agent in the United States of the one who the he fell in love. The single has had different versions, paradoies and television appearances. Michael Jackson included one into his 1982 album, Thriller and Devo made the same with their own version called Girl U Want. The song was considered the number one single of the year during 1979 on Billboard Hot 100. Also, the whole album reached the peak position #1 into Billboard Pop Album with other song hit called, Good Girls Don’t and got two certified platinum in UK. My Sharona made part of a compilation album with the same title of 1995. Today, they are performing at The Hard Rock Cafe in Orlando, Fl according to their 2008 tour.
