In spite of the fact that Black Hole Sun was not the lead single of the Soundgarden’s album, Superunknown, it was the most successful single into this material. It reached the top ten positions on Canadian, Latvian, Irish, US and Australian Singles Charts. The song has been considered single of the year by Spex in 1994, #32 on The 77 Best Singles of the 90s of The Movement in New Zealand during 2004 and #49 on the 100 Greatest Singles of All Time according to Q magazine. This rock band was active until 1997, when it was released their last compilation album titled Soundgarden with songs like: Jesus Christ Pose, Outshined, Flower, Hands All Over, Loud Love, Pretty Noose, Bleed Together and Blow Up the Outside World.
