Iris was a song included into the soundtrack of the romantic movie City of Angels starred Nicolas Cage and Meg Ryan. It also made part of the sixth studio album of Goo Goo Dolls the rock band formers by John Rzeznik Robby Takac and Mike Malinin in 1987. Iris song has got an incredible record, it is the longest charting number one hit on the history of Billboard Hot 100 Airplay, because it stayed in that position during 18 consecutive weeks. The soundtrack of the movie also had the collaboration of Alanis Morissette with “Uninvited”, Peter Gabriel with “I Grieve”, Eric Clapton with “Further on up the Road”, among others. The last album the this band, Let Love In, was released in 2006. This year, they have released a new material.
