It talked about a story surrounding The Day the Music Died tragic event that killed three musicians, Ritchie Valens, Buddy Holly and J.P. The Bigo Bopper Richardson. The song has been ranked at #5 into the Songs of the Century. The single has been used and has appeared on different movies, series and tv commercials. Madonna made a cover which was included into the albums Music and The Next Best Thing OST the soundtrack of the motion picture premiered in 2000 and starred Benjamin Bratt, Madonna and Rupert Everett.
