Michael Jackson did not write this song. “Ben” was written by Don Black and Walter Scharf. But Michael did do a beautiful job with it.

I really, really liked this song. I guess it must be that I remember seeing the movie it came out in and cause I was a little boy, it must of had sentimental value.
Listening to it now as an adult, it reminds me of how it feels to not be understood. This song totally forshadows Jackson’s later years.

This has got to be the sweetest song and it was a song that went well with his voice.I loved this song the minute I heard it and it has been good to hear it sooo much here in the aftermath of Michael’s death.His memory and music will go on but it is a shame that his candle was snuffed out too soon!
